Cards on the table time: I’ve never really been a fan of Alan Pardew. The chippyness, the arrogance, the smug self-satisfaction, the waft of a cockney Alan Partridge that you get from almost his every utterance. I’ve never liked any of it, especially considering his modest – at best – gifts as both a player and manager.
Finally, though, his managerial ineptitude looks to have caught up with him. His struggles with Crystal Palace are such that it’s almost certain he’ll be sacked, unless he can conjure up some miraculous results in the next couple of Premier League games.
I wrote a piece for Just Football about Pardew’s toils, and you can read it in full here.
